Silence and Solitude

Silence and Solitude

Henri Nouwen once said, “Without being alone, you cannot have a peaceful life.”

What is the practice of “silence and solitude”?  It is letting go of everything in daily life, leaving the noise and the crowd, deliberately arranging time and space, and listening to God and your own heart. In our desire for Him, God will meet with us and give His grace to drink from the fountain of life.  “Quietness” means letting go of everything and letting God rule. The difference between solitude and loneliness lies in the presence of God in “solitude,” meeting the Lord.
